Date With TR (Scooby) has earnings of $34,645 in NCHA dollars. By one of the best Dual Rey sons, TR Dual Rey, who was bred by the SDP Buffalo Ranch. See TR Dual Rey in action here. Peppys Date earned $28, 810 in the NCHA with produce earnings of over 87K.

Scooby adores attention. That and her kind personality makes her a joy to be around. Her breeding career didn’t begin until 2020. She has raised a filly by Metallic Cattack and a colt by Smooth as A Cat. The filly is pointed to the reined cowhorse arena and the colt is going to the cutting pen. The last three photos are of Scooby’s offspring.

Scooby is expecting a foal by Kit Kat Sugar for 2024.

PEPTOS BLU STAR

Peptos Blu Star (Sage) is by the great Once In A Blu Boon who won $316,564 in the cutting pen, was an NCHA Futurity Open semifinalist and who went on to win multiple championships. He had 14 major limited aged event championship titles, and 2 reserve titles with an impressive 29 times to finals. He had earners of over 2.6 million dollars.

Boon A little, sired by Hall of Fame Stallion, Smart Little Lena, earned $118,404 in the NCHA and produced more than $1 million.

Sage’s pedigree is linebred to the most legendary maternal bloodline ever in the cutting industry, Royal Blue Boon, thru her daughter Autumn Boon (over $1.9 million in earners). We feel extremely fortunate to have a broodmare with the genetics of this caliber in our program. Sage was first bred in 2022 after ending her career as a premier ranch horse. She is incredibly cowy and quick, but quiet and sweet. We retained her 2023 black filly by Taggline and are looking forward to her 2024 foal by Travelin Jonez. She is booked back to Scooter Kat for 2025.

JTR SWEET SPOT

JTR Sweet Spot (Kitty) is a stunning mare with over 10K in NCHA earnings.

She is by Spots Hot, earner of $529,435 NCHA and sire of earners of over 6 million, including Hottish.

Talk about this mare’s bottom side. Kitty’s dam, Sweet Little Kitten, is a FULL sister to High Brow CD (NCHA Horse of the Year), earner of $542,101 with offspring earnings of over $12,700,000.

Kitty is a big bodied, strong, athletic mare, between 15.1 and 15.2. She was a competitive force in the cutting pen but injury ended her career. She raised a colt by Woody Be Tuff before we acquired her and is bred back to him for 2024. Kitty is also booked to Dual Smart Rey for 2025.

WHISKEYS LITLE CHILI

Whiskeys Litle Chili (LC) is a beautiful dark bay daughter by our deceased stallion Hickorys Irish Pep.

That makes her granddaughter to Paddys Irish Whiskey, who was part of the famous trio of full brothers that included Gallo Del Cielo (“Rooster”) and Grays Starlight. Paddys Irish Whiskey has sired the winners of over $1.6 million, and 5,302 AQHA points, 36 AQHA World/Res. World Championships including 2-time AQHA World Champion Versatility Ranch Horse Smart Whiskey Doc. His top five earners have succeeded in cutting, ranch versatility, reining, reined cow horse and roping events. As a broodmare sire, his daughters have produced earners of more than $2,600,00.

LC is an extremely eye appealing, beloved ranch horse with tremendous heart. She always wanted to work, and when she did she was aggressive and quick, always wanting to dominate the cow. Mark says “she would dive in and eat a cow alive”. The last two photos are foals out of LC.

WHISKEY BOON BAR

Whiskey Boon Bar (Roxie) is a sorrel daughter by our deceased stallion Hickorys Irish Pep.

That makes her granddaughter to Paddys Irish Whiskey, who was part of the famous trio of full brothers that included Gallo Del Cielo (“Rooster”) and Grays Starlight. Paddys Irish Whiskey has sired the winners of over $1.6 million, and 5,302 AQHA points, 36 AQHA World/Res. World Championships including 2-time AQHA World Champion Versatility Ranch Horse Smart Whiskey Doc. Roxie’s maternal side represents powerhouses in the cowhorse world. Boon Bar Baby was by Boon Bar who was also the sire to Royal Blue Boon, who has long reigned supreme as the all-time leading dam in cutting. Colonels Kings Adam was by Colonel Freckles and Targo Gold was by Doc’s Prescritpion.

Roxi was used on the ranch for several years, mostly by our son. She was a snappy, cowy mare and had a huge stop. Although she’s soggy like her sire her abundance of chrome was something she got from her dam. We look forward to this maiden mare’s broodmare career.

WHISKEY FROM ANGELS

Whiskey From Angels (Fergie) is a bay daughter by our deceased stallion Hickorys Irish Pep.

That makes her granddaughter to Paddys Irish Whiskey, who was part of the famous trio of full brothers that included Gallo Del Cielo (“Rooster”) and Grays Starlight. Fergie’s bottom side is packed with Foundation bloodlines. There is a strong influence of King breeding through Cotton Chex who was by Bueno Chex, the good son of King Fritz and Last Command was by Power Command who was sired by King. Pic Remedy was sired by Docs Remedy, who earned over $92k and has had earners of over $3 millon and out of Picinic, full sister to Greg Ward’s great mare Sugarnic. .

Fergie was a good all around saddle horse , used for everything on the ranch until she was injured. Gritty, athletic, lots of try. She is a stout mare with a ton of bone which she passes on to her offspring. The last two photos are foals out of Whiskey From Angels.

LENAS PLAYBOY CREDIT

Lenas Playboy Credit (Lippy) has earned an honest living, proving herself to be a reliable saddle horse on the ranch. She always felt like a big, strong horse when you were riding her. As a weanling this mare unfortunately tore off a small section of her lip. Although it didn’t impact her ability to eat or pack a bit it did cause an unsightly blemish so we decided to keep her. That proved to be a great outcome because Lippy is by Lenas Playboy Magic, one of the last remaining sons of the Legendary Freckles Playboy and these granddaughters of Freckles Playboy are quite valuable to our breeding program. Pretty soon even they will become hard to come by.

Colonels King Adam was sired by Colonel Freckles. That doubles up the influence of Jewels Leo Bar since you have his great son Freckles Playboy on Lippy’s top side and his other famous son Colonel Freckles on the bottom. And because Lippy shares the same dam as Whiskey Boon Bar her maternal side represents the same powerhouses in the cowhorse world. Boon Bar Baby was by Boon Bar who was also the sire to Royal Blue Boon, who has long reigned supreme as the all-time leading dam in cutting.

We hope to have a few foals on the ground in the future by Lippy and look forward to breeding her to SJR Diamond Bogart in 2024.

WEAVERS SMART OPAL

Weavers Smart Opal (Lulu) came to us from Margaret Ore, who trained and competed with her in Stock Horse shows. Margaret said “the best fence run she ever had on a snaffle bit horse was on LuLu. Speed and cow”. Lulu is an NRCHA money earner. She continued to show on a limited basis with our daughter before raising foals.

This mare’s powerful pedigree screams old school cowhorse bloodlines. Travalena had NCHA earnings of $105,605 (1990 NCHA Super Stakes Open Classic-2nd 1989 NCHA Breeders Open-3rd, Top 35 Leading sire, sire of the earners of over $4.5 million). Dox Smart Buy earned $254,000 in cutting. I’ll Be Smart was a full brother to NCHA Triple Crown Champion Smart Little Lena. In the cutting pen Miss N Cash earned bragging rights with more than $124,000 LTE and went on the become a great broodmare sire.

Lulu has been a fantastic producer for us. The majority of her foals were by our Paddy’s Irish Whiskey stallion, Hickorys Irish Pep. They have been extremely attractive, athletic horses and have garnered much interest from buyers over the years. One was purchased for the reined cowhorse arena, another as a stallion prospect, and one has been in rope horse training. The last two photos are of a filly and colt out of Lulu.

PAULENAS WHISKEY

Paulenas Whiskey (Claire) is a bay daughter by our deceased stallion Hickorys Irish Pep.

That makes her granddaughter to Paddys Irish Whiskey, who was part of the famous trio of full brothers that included Gallo Del Cielo (“Rooster”) and Grays Starlight. Claire is our son’s horse. Early on he used her in High School Rodeo and then ranched on her. She is as sweet as can be and is one of the funnest horses to heel on, always putting you in position.

The last two photos are a couple of Claire’s offspring. Cory is riding Bonnie, a handy little mare he uses on the ranch and the roan colt is headed toward saddle horse boot camp soon.

GOLD RIVERS

We rode Gold Rivers (Barby) for many years and she was an exceptional ranch horse. Everything was done on this mare. She was nice to rope off of and could read and sort cattle. She was a beautiful stopper.

Good old school bloodlines…Le Peppy Doc goes directly back to the world famous Mr San Peppy through Le Peppy Doc. We love the addition of the King Fritz breeding (which is getting hard to find) through Rodney Jag.

Barby has raised some outstanding foals by both Hickorys Irish Pep (Paddys Irish Whiskey) and Lenas Playboy Magic (by Freckles Playboy). The last four photos include some of the fillies out of Gold Rivers.

Barby is bred to Lenas Playboy Magic for a 2024 foal. This will be the last foal we raise and probably offer by this great son of Freckles Playboy.
